MISERABLE- Casting
For the piece I needed to consider the type of actors I would want for Magnolia and Elf. The main requirement for each would be good comic ability, they don't necessarily need good emotional expression as that isn't the focus of this piece, but it wouldn't hurt if they could get that right too.
MAGNOLIA- I would want a shorter male, but quite wide and intimidating with hard facial features and a dead-pan temperament. He would need hard eyes and a commanding presence. He appears professional, wearing a perfectly fitted suit, maybe even a little too small.
ELF- I would want Elf to be taller than Magnolia, but much thinner. He would have softer eyes and facial features. Quite lanky, and the opposite of intimidating. He should have a petty and childish attitude. His suit should be ill-fitting and he should literally look like a boy in his Dad's suit.
As I am only doing a Storyboard, physical appearance is more important than acting capability. Therefore I can basically cast anyone, so will try to cast as close to the above information as possible.
