A Change of Direction

With only a few weeks until deadline, I have decided to take a shift in direction with my work. Although I adore the script for Blue and still hope to make it a short film at some point, I simply don't have the time to complete it for my coursework. It is a multi-location, multi-cast piece which would require multiple shoots on about three or four different days at the very least, one scene requiring the creation of an artificial party. It was simply too ambitious. Perhaps if I would have started filming a month ago I could have pulled it off, but due to me not keeping an eye on deadlines that simply isn't possible anymore. This is very unfortunate, but the inability to film is also down to the general busy-ness of those I would rely on for this shoot (people to help with sound, actors, general extra crew etc.) and it doesn't make sense to keep relying on other people and have to rely on other people who then determine the success of my work. Blue SCENE 1 COMPLETE DARKNESS BOY (VO) Sometimes… EXT. THE SEA. DAY.   THE BOY IS UNDERWATER, AT FIRST SIMPLY DRIFTING IN THE LONELY BLUE, ACCEPTING HIS SLOW DROWNING. AS HIS MONOLOGUE DEVELOPS HE BEGINS TO STRUGGLE AGAINST THE WAVES AND TRIES TO MOVE TOWARD THE SURFACE BUT SEEMS STUCK. DESTINED TO DROWN. BOY (VO) I feel like I’m drowning.
